Proceeds from all VIA events are used to sustain these events, maintain our landscaping projects, allow us to make significant donations to the community, and manage the necessary administrative functions a volunteer organization incurs. Over time, they've allowed us to make the improvements listed below!
Village Improvements by the VIA
- Installed the water system on the Irvington Commons
- Installed electricity on the Irvington Commons
- Added new signage on the Irvington Commons
- Purchased new benches and picnic tables for the Irvington Commons
- Provided 15 planters with benches along Irvington Rd and King Carter Dr
- Worked with the Town to renovate the Irvington Commons playground
- Installed the speaker system inside the Irvington Commons gazebo
- Set up and maintained the storage building on the Irvington Commons
- Maintained 3 porta-potties located discreetly on the Irvington Commons
Ongoing VIA Projects
- Install and maintain multiple seasonal plantings and landscaping at the Irvington Commons, the gazebo, the tennis/pickleball courts, and the 15 planters along King Carter Drive and the shops along Irvington Road.
- Manage contracts for the larger cleanup projects and yearly mulching
- Contract, sponsor, manage, and advertise for multiple events (see list below)
- Maintain Irvington's Great Pumpkin "Irving"
- Decorate the Irvington Commons for various holidays
- Maintain liability insurance policies for all VIA events and volunteers
