Trunk or Treat
Halloween Trunk or Treat
Halloween brings ghosts, ghouls, goblins, witches, princesses, superheroes, and all types of crazy costumes to the Historic Irvington Commons. It’s an exciting, fun-filled annual event sponsored by the Village Improvement Association (VIA).
All area children 12 and under are invited to participate. Irving the Pumpkin will welcome everybody, and the VIA will hand out candy and goodies starting at 5 PM. (An adult must accompany children.)
We encourage the kids to have fun and get creative with their costumes! We want to see the scariest, the most innovative, creative, and the most original costumes. (Rain will cancel this event.)
Reminders for a safe Halloween:
- Make sure costumes, masks, and footwear fit correctly.
- Check the eye holes in masks to ensure they are large enough for full vision.
If you plan on trick-or-treating in a neighborhood:
- Check for loose costumes or capes that could brush up against jack-o-lanterns.
- Choose flame-resistant fabrics.
- Test props for safety and non-toxic materials.
- Use reflective tape for dark costumes.
- Make sure children carry a flashlight.
