Who and What is the VIA?

Who We Are
The Village Improvement Association (VIA) is a group of Irvington residents who volunteer their time and energy to make our village an even better place to live, work, and visit.

What We Do
Our mission is simple: work hard, have fun, and help our community thrive. We bring people together through events that celebrate the best of Irvington — from our Farmers Markets and Car Boot Sales to the USAF Concerts, Halloween Trunk or Treat, and our beloved Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.

Our Story
The VIA has been part of Irvington’s story for decades, with volunteers who care deeply about keeping the village beautiful, vibrant, and full of character. We serve as a resource for volunteerism and community connection, always supporting projects and events that enrich local life.

Thank You
Every VIA event happens thanks to the amazing volunteers who plan, organize, and make things run smoothly. We’re also incredibly grateful to our vendors, guests, sponsors, and neighbors who show up year after year to keep Irvington’s community spirit alive and well.

EVENTS ORGANIZED, HOSTED & SPONSORED BY THE VIA

-- Farmers Market
Farmers Market
Held on the first Saturday of each month from May through November, the Irvington Farmers Market is a local favorite. With more than 80 vendors offering fresh produce, delicious food, artwork, and crafts, it’s the place to be. Enjoy live music, a great playground for the kids, and plenty of free parking.
-- Car Boot Sale
Car Boot Sale
Every May, the VIA hosts our popular Boot Sale. Picture a Saturday Flea Market or a “Junk in the Trunk” sale where everything must go. Vendors pay a $10 seller fee, set up their goods right from their car “boots,” and let the fun begin.
-- USAF Concerts
U.S. Air Force Band Concerts
Each year, we welcome the incredible U.S. Air Force Band for an unforgettable evening of music on the Historic Irvington Commons. These concerts are free and open to everyone, thanks to the VIA.
-- Halloween Trunk or Treat
Halloween Trunk or Treat
Every October 31st, the Irvington Commons comes alive with ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses, and all kinds of wild costumes! Irving the Pumpkin will be there to greet everyone, and the VIA will be handing out goodies galore.
-- Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
A holiday tradition! The annual Turkey Trot is a run/walk through the historic Village of Irvington and a must-do for families and friends spending Thanksgiving together. Organized entirely by the VIA’s dedicated volunteers, this event combines fun, fitness, and community pride to kick off the holiday in style.
